Dig a pad site, cut a road, or excavate for a pond anywhere in the Texas Hill Country and the same thing happens: limestone comes out of the ground. A lot of it. Most landowners never plan for where that rock goes — until there's a ten-foot pile of it sitting next to the driveway.

Where All That Limestone Comes From
